Q/A - TREBEL Intramural Open 2018

Last week, we hosted a pre-open meeting for the Trebel Intramural Open 2018. During the meeting, several common questions came up about how it works and what changes we made from last year. This article will serve as another resource to provide our community with all the details about this great event.

For the basic details of when/what the open is, please read TREBEL Intramural Open 2018.

If you have some other specific questions, please read on to clear up anything the above to articles may have missed.

Common Questions and Answers

Q: How can I earn points for my team?

A: You can earn points the by simply participating in the weekly workout, completing weekly “team challenges” that will be posted throughout the open, and you can earn points for placing in the top 3 for your division (Top 3 Male/Females in Performance and Fitness categories will points. Note: Participants in the Life category are not eligible for performance based points).

Q: Can I switch divisions (between Life and Fitness, for example) from week to week?

A: In short, yes you can. But, there are a few things to take note of before you do. If you want to earn points for your team (in terms of workout performance), you must pick one category and stick with it, as you will only be eligible for points in that category. However, if you feel that on a certain week a different workout category would be better suited to you, feel free to pick another category but just know you will not be eligible for any points that week.

The TREBEL team feels that the best way to handle this is to talk with your Primary Coach and decide on a workout category together that you can perform in for the entire competition, and then stick with it.

Q: I’m still unsure what workout category for my team, can you provide some sample workouts from last years open?

Q: I won’t be able to attend every week and some Sundays I have to leave a little early, is that ok?

A: Absolutely. If you have other obligations that interfere once in awhile, that is perfectly fine. You can still compete when you are able and the TREBEL team will work with you around your scheduling conflicts, just let us know ahead of time.

Q: Do points really matter that much?

A: It depends. Most participants could care less about the points. We want to do everything in our power to make this a POSITIVE, EMPOWERING, and FUN experience. Some of us are motivated by a little competition but most just want to have a good time and celebrate with a beer each week :)

Group Class Programming for Monday, February 12th, 2018:

5 rounds for time:

15 unbroken Wall Ball Shots (20/14)
